This walk: 2011-3-3: a few items added to the same walk done yesterday - we couldn't park at the Scout Hut for our planned walk .....

The walk on the previous day, 2nd March 2011.

View from Trowlesworthy Tor to North Hessary Tor TV mast, with the the top edge of Roughtor Plantation on the left and possibly the edge of Raddick Plantation behind, the Scout Hut (surrounded by trees) is on the right. Crazy Well Pool is probably the dark area seen above the Scout Hut.

As previous photo but including Ditsworthy Warren House with its few trees over on the right.

Hexton Tor, a minor tor, not marked on the map, at SX 581 637, elevation 330 metres (1082 feet). When you get there, this is all there is!

The faint markings on the Hanging Stone: pointing halfway down the left edge of the "C" (top hand) and halfway down the "B" (lower hand) .....

Overview .....

A view of the Hanging Stone, at SX 58377 63701 ( 3 metres) with Trowlesworthy Tor in the distance.

Reflection of the sun on a glorious day across the Big Pond (at the north end of the china clay works); this is fed by the Lee Moor Leat, with The Lonesome Pine in view again.

An ancient,  weather-worn hawthorn tree, hanging on in what must be a fairly hostile environment for it.
