DTRG weekend - click on the relevant link for the different mines .....
This walk: 2011-9-24 - Berni's birthday - and at one of our old courting places - Ding Dong mine! She can't say I never take her anywhere ......
Actually, this well-known landmark engine house is called Greenburrow! Ding Dong-proper is few hundred yards away ..... it was always Ding Dong to us locals. It was so-named after a bell that was hereabouts at one or other mine that was rung to call the miners to work.

Map above showing both Greenburrow and Ding Dong. The small red circle shows where we parked - in the wilds of Cornwall.

The happy souls of the Dartmoor Tinworking Research Group weekend visit to West Cornwall - at this stage it was umbrellas all round! Guide, Paul Bonningtonn, is at the left of the group.
It was so wet that my camera came out very little - and it is used a lot on Dartmoor walks in the wet!
